The Power of “ONE”

In a world that often feels overwhelming, it’s easy to underestimate the power of one small action. But as I recently learned, “ONE” can make all the difference.

I was at a bridal shower for Mackenzie Taylor, someone I’ve known for years. Her joy was contagious—she had waited a long time to find her perfect match, and it was awesome to celebrate with her. As I skimmed the invitation, I noticed her Venmo handle and decided to send a little gift. But in my haste, I misread the handle and sent the money to a different Mackenzie Taylor entirely.

Panic set in. How would I get my money back? Venmo support felt so convoluted and I worried that I might have just made a donation to a stranger's evening out. But instead of spiraling, I took a chance and sent a request for the money to be returned, explaining my mistake.

Within minutes, the money was back in my account, thanks to the kindness of MacKenzie-Taylor-10.

It was such a small thing—just a few clicks on an app—but it restored my faith in the goodness of people. This stranger didn’t have to return the money. They could have ignored my request or even taken advantage of the situation. But they didn’t. They chose to do the right thing.

This experience reminded me of why I do the work I do. Whether it’s a Venmo refund or a life-changing humanitarian expedition, one small action can create a ripple effect of goodness in the world.

I believe in the power of one—one person, one decision, one moment. That’s why I’m passionate about the humanitarian expeditions I lead. Each trip, each person who joins, makes a world of difference in the lives of those we serve. And it’s why I support organizations like CHOICE, where just one ticket to their annual gala can help fund critical projects around the world.

If you’re inspired by this story, I invite you to make your own ripple. Start small. Show appreciation to someone who’s done something kind, support a cause that matters, or even join me on a humanitarian trip next year. Together, we can prove that “ONE” really can make all the difference.

And speaking of making a difference—if you want to show some love to two amazing Mackenzies, consider Venmo-ing a small thank-you to MacKenzie-Taylor-10 for her honesty or contributing to MacKenzie-Taylor-110’s honeymoon fund. It’s a simple way to spread kindness and support those who truly deserve it. 😉

Let’s spread some kindness. Join me in making a difference, one small action at a time.
